How You Can Create a New World Paradigm…

I just  rewatched a short, but profound video, “The Evolution of the Butterfly.” by cellular biologist Bruce Lipton, one of my favorite speakers and authors. Although it was published 8 years ago,it is highly relevant today.  Lipton uses the metaphor of a  caterpillar to explain the massive changes our society is experiencing.

Lipton explains that the caterpillar is comprised of 7 billion cells, and each cell, like those in the human body has a job; it knows exactly what to do: digestion, muscular movement, neurological, etc.  The caterpillar grows and its cells perform their functions until it’s time to stop and transform into a butterfly.

As if on cue, the caterpillar stops functioning as a caterpillar, and there’s no work for the 7 billion cells to do.  The cells are suddenly aware that, “This economy is shut down. All these workers suddenly have nothing to process, no work to do!”  Society appear to break down, and there appears to be chaos.

And then… a new community of cells emerge, “imaginal cells,” identical to the other cells, except that they see a different future, and bring new ideas into the population.  These new ideas create a new civilization, that is an evolutionary advance over the caterpillar.  It’s not the end, but a new beginning as a beautiful butterfly emerges from the chrysalis.

Every human is a cell in the body of a new, evolving organism.  “Our world is late stage caterpillar”, says Lipton. “We are leaving a world that is no longer sustainable and moving into one where we can thrive.”  He says to LET GO of the old paradigm and allow the new to unfold.

What if, like the billions of cells within the butterfly, we can surrender the chaos of our current WORLD situation into the hand of a Higher Power.  We are, in essence, responsible for our own thoughts, and our own surrender.  Yet as millions of human “cells” can surrender into a state of allowance, our ascension into the new paradigm will surely be nothing short of miraculous.

3 Steps to Think Your Stress Away!

I recently read about an Interheart study with almost 30,000 participants, that identified stress as a key risk factors for heart attacks that was modifiable. It got me thinking about how our thoughts are inter-connected with our health, wealth and happiness. This is especially relevant today with news headlines churning us up with constant threats to our health, economy, and world peace.

If our inner thoughts create our reality, and there are no idle thoughts, what if we could create a habit of thinking differently?  Have you noticed how some thoughts make you happy and joyful, while others generate so much stress, sadness, anger, rejection, that you feel small and diminished?

Step 1. Be Aware
Did you know that over 70,000 thoughts careen through your minds every day? Notice what you’re thinking and you’ll get a sense whether yours are critical and judgmental, focused on lack, or blaming others for what’s wrong in your life. Ask yourself how they make you feel? Just notice and don’t judge yourself. What are your thoughts after reading a news article or watching the news? Are you glued to your news feed?

Step 2. Choose Wisely
Deliberately choose thoughts of appreciation for everything good in your life. Notice positive aspects to everyone and everything in your life. Choose thoughts that make you feel good, because feeling good is the antithesis of stress. And step away from the news!

Step 3. Love Yourself
Spend several minutes daily thinking loving thoughts about yourself. “I’m a beautiful person”, “I deserve love” “I’m successful”, “I am happy to be me”, ” I am safe”, etc.

What Causes Depression and Anxiety, and How Can We Solve Them?

In his new book, “Lost Connections,” award winning journalist Johann Hari tackles just that. In this week’s broadcast, “Energy Management to Ease Depression” we’ll explore how doctors identify depression in the US using the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, written by a panel of psychiatrists. Ironically, almost everyone who is grieving matches the clinical criteria for depression in the manual. So the psychiatrists invented a loophole called “the grief exception”. They said that you are allowed to show the symptoms of depression and not be considered mentally ill in one circumstance only – if you have lost someone close. Originally, you could show these symptoms for a year before being classed as mentally ill. Over the years, however, the time limit was reduced, and now you only have a 2 week window to grieve the loss of a loved one before you are classified as clinically depressed! 

I’ve been working with highly sensitive, empathic professionals for a while now and I’ve noticed that EVERYONE seems to be dealing with loss on some level and that can create feelings of anxiety and depression. It can create physical symptoms and can really have a negative impact on all aspects of your life and can keep you stuck in a rut.

In my practice, I’ve noticed that some of the primary bars to happiness are “hidden losses”, events from the present or past you may not even be aware of. These losses can impact you more than you would imagine, affecting health, wealth, relationships and every aspect of life. 

Learn how Energy Management and your body wisdom can help you to be proactive about unhealed grief and other emotions. 

Old wounds, hurts and losses, past events, can prevent you from creating the life you desire, because their energy stays trapped in your energetic body until you release it. Yes, I know this may sound a bit woo-woo, but check it out for yourself! Take some time and tune into your body. It will always tell you the truth.

Your body loves you, and will always let you know when something isn’t right by a physical manifestation, so you can address it. Thus, the first indicators that you may be experiencing hidden loss can be physical. You may notice a clenching in your solar plexus, tension, aches, pains and ailments. It can be challenging to feel happy when your body is urgently and forcefully telling you something is wrong. There’s really no shortage of what can happen when your body is trying to communicate with you that something is off, or out of alignment. So take some time and tune in to what your body is telling you.

Are you sleeping too much (or too little)

Are your sleep patterns erratic?

Have you developed new aches and pains?

Have you lost your appetite (or gained weight)?

Have you developed heart palpitations, or an ache in your heart?

Has your blood pressure elevated or dropped?

Communication from your Emotional Guidance System is so important. Your emotions in their healthiest state are like clouds. They come and they go. When you haven’t addressed the emotional charge around an issue, the energy you hold in your body can create the physical indicators we just looked at. That is why it essential to free yourself of unreleased emotions. When you release them the liberated energy creates a state of happiness and joy.

If you find yourself stuck and your life isn’t working, if you find yourself repeating the same old patterns over and again… if you have a veil of sadness or guilt that doesn’t seem to go away. If you have difficulty sleeping. if you’re experiencing physical indicators such as higher or lower blood pressure, headaches, you’ve gained or lost weight… it may be hurts, losses or your reactions to past experiences that are the culprits.

If you wish to create more joy and happiness, look at what might be blocking it. Even if you believe that you have already addressed it, the energy from a past loss or event can still be in your energy field, keeping you stuck. This can include any feelings of hurt or loss, unhealed events or situations from your past, feeling like you’re a victim, or blaming others, all of which can trigger regret, pain, sadness, grief, numbness, which are the antitheses of joy.

Since hidden losses can be events that haven’t fully healed, it’s not unusual for people to think these events are no longer an issue if they believe they’ve already released them. When not completely healed, however, the emotions associated with these events can take a large toll on your quest for happiness.

The loss of a loved one or a relationship, a loss of income or job/career or a move that required relocation, causing changes in your environment and relationships, can be events that you may not have dealt with, and healed fully. Other losses can include physical disability or illness, empty nest, loss of your self-respect, personal power, self-esteem, youth or beauty. These common examples of hidden, emotional loss can affect you, and when not addressed, may impede your happiness.

Energy Management for Empaths When Bad Things Happen Like the Parkland Shooting


 

On February 14th, the world reacted to the horror of the Valentine’s Day massacre in Parkland, where 17 students and faculty were brutally murdered. I live in Parkland, 5 blocks from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

At 9:00 am Wednesday morning, two weeks AFTER the shooting, I suddenly could not breathe. It was terrifying. This was the first day back for the Parkland students and I was feeling everything they were. It was brutal. At 9:00 am the following morning, in the midst of my yoga practice, I was again overcome with terror and could not breathe. Friday morning, I was proactive and headed off the energetic and emotional assault before it began, but I was confused.

As a highly sensitive empath, I had learned how to re-channel other people’s energy when it assaulted me. After both the presidential election and the mass shooting in Ft. Lauderdale airport, I redirected other people’s anxiety and depression and I felt good. But this experience with the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting was very different and my standard “Go To” strategy didn’t work.

And so I set out to discover WHY my strategy wasn’t working and what to do about it.
